What is the difference between Recycled Plastic and Marine Grade Polymer?

Recycled Plastic and Marine Grade Polymer are materials that create beautiful, long-lasting pool furniture. Both are made from High-density polyethylene (HDPE) giving them all the advantages of a thick, heavy plastic, such as the prevention of warping, swelling, or blistering in direct sunlight. So, what is the difference between the two? Recycled plastic is repurposed materials that are combined with UV inhibitor and color to form plastic planks, replacing lumber on traditional wooden style pool furniture. Marine Grade Polymer also has UV compounds and color combined into the mixture, however, MPG is made with virgin HDPE and is inserted into molds to create decorative curves and designer shapes. MPG furniture has more solid pieces of plastic than recycled plastic which reduces the use of metal hardware making it a stronger material.
